Dear Bob Stanley,
Utah State University’s spirit club, the Hurd, and the student athletes are hosting the first annual service project called Meet the CHAlleNGE “home renovation” on April 10, 2010. This project is meant to take a home in the Cache Valley area and renovate it for a local family in need in one day. This project is incredibly time consuming and budget sensitive so therefore we are calling upon the people and businesses within the community to help us accomplish or goal and to help make a positive CHANGE in one local families life forever.
Your company was referred to us by one of our lead sponsors, the Cache Valley Radio Group. They have the highest praise towards yourself and your charitable donations in the past and after looking into Cantwell Lumber, we as a university knew that your business was just what we were looking for on such short notice.
The Kent family has a small severely handicapped child named Dameon, in December 2008 he was diagnosed with hydrocephalus (water on the brain) and after many surgeries he was left with little brain function and in a wheel chair. This is why we need your help. The current home the family is moving into is located at 444 East 180 South Smithfield, UT it does not have any ramps for Dameon's parents to move him in and out of the house. I have attached three (3) pictures to this letter. One of the front steps, one of the back steps, and one of the garage stairs. We have had professional contractors come and inspect the steps to see what supplies we need and I have also attached that list to this letter.
On the Cantwell website and card it states, “building solutions and project support." This local family truly needs us to "build solutions" for them and we are hoping that your company is willing to contribute to our efforts by donating the supplies we need to build these three ramps and make a positive change in the Kent Family's life.
Please use contact information provided below. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Megan Darrington

Great job with your propsal. You got straight to the point and laid out exactly what you wanted to do. I'm really impressed.
ReplyDeleteYou've got a great start. You're going to want to write in the first paragraph what you want from the company so they can decide if they're interested. Good job though.
